Hair Tutorial: French Braided Hairstyles!

  Hello lovely followers!
Super sorry we haven't posted in quite a while...winter blues have gotten the best of us I suppose.
Anyways, we always post fashion on our blog, but we figured why not add some spice here and there! :)
So I decided to post a hair tutorial. (Scroll down to our 'Dresses' post where I did Hannah's hair for winter formal)
I chose to demonstrate the basic french braid, but added three different ways to end it!
**Thank you to our amazing friend Bri for being my model and hair-braider. Also, for being my guinea pig whenever I try a new hairstyle. :)

THE BASIC FRENCH BRAID:
 Pretty self explanatory. Braid, add more hair on each side, and continue. :)

ENDING #1: THE BRAIDED BUN
Basically pulling the braid into a bun, Super simple!

 ENDING #2: THE FRENCH BRAIDED UPDO
 Also very easy but looks super cool! Gather the braid at the top of your head and pin!
 ENDING #3: THE FRENCH BRAIDED PONY
This one is bound to give you tons of compliments! Simply undo the braid at the end and tie it off in a pony. Just to add a bit of cuteness, take a strand of the pony and wrap it around the base.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Dresses

Hello everyone! I know it has been a while since our last post, but the weather sometimes doesn't permit great conditions :D I know I mentioned posting about homecoming dresses a while ago. Since i feel guilty about making y'all wait, I threw in a special bonus! Winter formal dress! Dances at our school arent much of a big deal, but we make them fun. Taylor and I both attended Homecoming, and I attended Winter Formal. I know we normally don't do hair post, but i dont want to downplay Taylor's great hair abilities.
XOXO,

Homecoming

 I got my dress from Nordstom on a huge sale, and i beleive that Taylor got her skirt and shirt at Forever 21. Love the lace Tay :)

I got my dress at Charlotte Russe. I love the top and also the sheer skirt with a built in slip.

Taylor has magical hair curling powers :)

Fallin' for Vintage

Want to see this post as a lookbook on our photographer, Dani's youtube? click here!

Hannah: Forever 21 orange crop top, scarf from NYC, jeans from American Eagle, combat boots from Cathy Jean, Hair done by Danielle.
Taylor: Mustard yellow tank from PacSun, Forever 21 jeans, cardigan from Marshalls.

Fall is definitely in the air!
 Hello lovely blog readers, this is a LONG over due post...thanks to my procrastination.
 This is our new photo shoot with our beautiful photographer, Danielle. (click here to go to her Youtube) Thanks again Dani, we love you!

Hannah thought of the genius title for this post. Two of my favorite things, fall and vintage. Although Hannah's ensemble isn't as vintage-esque (except for the black lace crocheted scarf! Seen here), I have to admit mine is. The only reason really being the adorable lace cardigan I picked up from Marshalls! Nevertheless, I have kept the title. It's vintage-y enough.

I made the pearl bracelet for Hannah, DIY coming up soon? Yes!

So long for now,

Scarf Sundays Issue III - Black Lace & Crochet

Scarf Sundays
Issue III
Black Lace & Crochet

Hey everyone! Sorry we weren't able to post a Scarf Sunday last week, we have been super busy! But luckily we have been working on a new post with our amazing photographer, check back for a new post with great photos coming soon!
This outfit is one of the ones we used for the photoshoot, and Danielle (our photographer) did a great job of catching this shot of Hannah as she almost fell off a tree. Super graceful move, Hannah. :)
Either way I adore this scarf! Crochet and lace is our obsession. Hannah got the scarf this summer at NYC, I have a matching coffee-brown one that she got for me. ( That we used in our City vs. Beach look  here. )

Hope you enjoyed this short post, sorry it was kind of late. Expect a great post with tons of new photos coming soon!

Scarf Sundays Issue I - Classic Burberry

Scarf Sundays
Issue I
Classic burberry

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone had an amazing week. It just now started to get cold up here so  I decided to start my first post of a series of posts. I thought that this scarf would be a great first post because it uses all the fall colors and it is very soft. I love the fuzzy puffs at the end. I have seen this scarf before without the puffs and I personally perfer them, but I guess it just depends from person to person...

One of my friends painted her nails with this pattern.She is going to do a "How To" post this week. Her link is www.prettypolishinc.blogspot.com/

Autumn Looks

Hey everyone! Thanks for the 2013 views! We were honored to be the winners of Color Coordinated's BEST NEW BLOGGER AWARD! Look forward to seeing our
Scarf Sundays
 starting the 23rd of September.

Fall brings mixed emotions to most people. Summer months of carefree fun are gone, but you are reunited with your friends. But one of the big benefits is that you get to wear layers, scarves and boots! I love everything about fall. Thanksgiving, "La Rentree" aka the start of school, and back to school shopping. This year I scored 2 pairs of boots on sale. The brown ones at Cathy Jean and the black ones at..... SEARS! yes, I said sears. I also made the orange tunic top with my little sewing machine. That was an adventure.

Now on with the looks.

In the first photo, I am wearing a yellow and black striped dress from Forever 21 with black leggings and black heeled boots. I am also wearing a black necklace that a friend of mine made with black and gold yarn. And you can't forget the barrett.

Taylor is looking gorgeous in the orange tunic top that I made. We used a blue scarf to contrast the colors. I love that scarf because it reminds me of a Monet painting. With purple boots and a plaid bag to tie it all together.

The pink leather jacket adds a huge pop to my cliché fall outfit; brown, brown and more brown (but don't forget the blue jeans).

Taylor is wearing my maxi dress (from Forever 21) with a beautiful green drapey vest. It is perfect for a warm autumn day. We have been having a lot of those lately :D

LOVE YOU FOLLOWERS!!!

Greetings from Bordeaux France

Bonjour tout le monde :D
I am writing to you here from france. I am staying with really close family friends and having a great time. But of course you cant go to France and not do some shopping. The biggest shopping street in France is in Bordeaux, Rue de Sainte Kathrine. At the top, there is big name brands which are EXRTA expensive. But at the bottom there are a bunch of cute boutiques. That is where I shop to get the full experience. Mostly this trip I shopped for friends. But here is the outfit I wore today
This lace bracelet I got at a boutique today. If you can't tell its made out of lace. This is a brilliant idea :) I am going to mess around and do a diy about it soon
Here is a dark photo of the dress that I bought. I am standing on the balcony of our flat and you can see the cathedral.
Here you can see the full dress. I only brought one purse with me (one of the disadvantages of packing the day before). We went to a chateaux (castle)
We were nominated for best new blogger on
http://colorcoordinatedlife.blogspot.fr/2012/08/the-first-annual-livi-awards.html
Thanks to everyone who voted for us. Love ya <3 tchao

Our Tribute to Aerosmith

 Air Guitar! :D

 Hair Feathers!

So you are probably thinking to yourself, "Why are these girls wearing Aerosmith tee's? They weren't even born yet!" And you would be correct. But we embrace all types of music... and ADORE classic rock. We wanted to go to the concert, but unchaperoned at an Aerosmith concert.... I DON'T THINK SO!!!!
So instead we decided to have our own party and show you our Vintage Tee's look.
Our guest model is Hannah W (not to be confused with blogger Hannah C.) She is a little bit obsessed with classic rock. Since I love adding differnt looks to my blog, wth? Why not?
Our feathers add a very "Steven Tyler" flare.
If any of you guys are going to the concert, take pictures and send them to me... (just putting it out there)
:D

Country Chicks

Our Dirty Little Secret....
We were walking around Taylor's house looking for somewhere to shoot our country look. It was super hot and we were beginning to get depressed. Taylor leaned down to touch some tall grass.
"I wish that there was somewhere where we could find like a BIG FIELD!" she exclaimed.
We were in luck. We walked down a ways and found a big fence. We found an easy spot to get over and hopped it, in a skirt D:
It was our mini Terabithia.  We didn't walk in too far or touch anything but it was the eureka of country land in the city. We soaked up the sun and then went back over.

Our Cute Country Outfits...
Taylor is wearing a floral dress from Forever 21 with a jean vest (Target) over it. I am wearing Taylor's mint skirt with a jean tied shirt over it. I am also wearing the bracelet that she made. Look farmiliar? Check out her DIY post.

XOXO,
T&H

Hey There, Sailor!

Lovin' these stripes! I went over to Taylors house and I looked around her room. I found these two striped shirts and about peed my pants. We are twinsies! The stripes on Taylor's shirt work PERFECTLY with her shorts.  My denim shorts don't exactly match my shirt, but it adds a little bit of pizzazzle :D

That watermelon tasted AMAZING after walking around in the hot weather. Way different then our normal 50 billion degrees below zero :)

Summer Looks- Dressy

OUTFIT 1
**********

I love Taylor's yellow dress. The brown belt and sandals make it look put together but not too fancy.
A perfect look for something on a summer day....
Super cute Taylor :D

Outfit 2
~~~~~~~
I am wearing Taylor's black lace tank top. You can't really see the decals because of the  black tank top under. I think that it added a little something extra instead of JUST an average black top.
The skirt is from forever 21. I really like the color combinations of teal in the skirt. The yellow is that pop of color that makes it quirky and summery.
The belt and the bow add some MAJOR class to this outfit.
Shoes? I just wore my flippies. They aren't super attractive after wearing them all the time so I cut them out :D
Embracing Colors, rouge blanc et bleu
Our Belated post about red white and blue :D
Lets face it, not all of us have a shirt that just happens to have red white and blue on it. Thats when you get creative :P
The flower decal was a headband that my mom bought for me from a little girl at a fundraiser. The little girl glued it on the top so that whoever was wearing it looked like a teleatubby... so I worked on it for a while and moved it to the side. We can do a DIY on headbands if you comment below :D
We used a blue lace tank top for extra texture and bright red shorts.
I got those shoes while shopping in France.
XOXO,
T&H
